Virginia Beach Dunes and Crossovers

THR coordinated with an architect and the City of Virginia Beach on a $3,532,000 contract with the Army Corps of Engineers to construct a sand dune environment for 6 miles of Atlantic shore line, North of the Virginia Beach board walk. THR constructed the Trex Decking for the dune crossovers, hauled in beach quality sand to repair erosion, and provided project management for fence construction, and the replanting of indigenous dune vegetation. The repaired dunes mimic naturally occurring dunes in appearance while serving as an effective protection against winter storm and hurricane conditions. The dune crossovers will help minimize negative impact on dunes as well as provide an aesthetic beach access for beach visitors including handicap persons.

W-143 DOCK LEVELERS

The Department of the Navy contracted with THR Enterprises, Inc. to construct an addition to warehouse receiving facility W-143, Naval Station of Norfolk, Va. The 200ft long addition required the installation of diagonal reinforced concrete stem walls, custom fabricated structural steel, steel siding, and built-up roof. Preparation/Demolition included hazardous materials remediation, underground utilities relocation, through-wall sawing, and structural demolition. The addition also required installation of specialized high speed rolling doors, service doors, and dock levelers. The contract was awarded with a value of $738,341.00.

Addition to Police Station

Department of the Navy contracted with THR Enterprises, Inc. for an addition to Police Station, Bldg NH-74 located at the Naval Station, Norfolk, VA. The new 2400 square foot Police facility included the installation of a high security weapons vault, locker rooms complete with showers, kitchen, and storage/receiving area. The new facility included the installation of two (2) heat pumps, 100 Kva transformer, and a 100 Kva back-up generator w/ transfer switch. Contract value awarded $573,723.00.

Bldg 1250 Pre-clean Room Addition

NASA awarded a contract to THR Enterprises to provide work consisting of the addition of a one- story pre-clean room building of approximately 3570 square feet. The addition shall be of a steel frame structure on concrete grade beams and precast - prestressed concrete piles. The ground level floor shall consist of slab on grade and structural slab. The roof construction shall be steel joist, metal deck, rigid insulation and built-up roofing. The new exterior wall shall be insulated preformed metal siding. Project is located at Langley Research Center, Hampton, VA. Contract value of $815,603.00.

Chapel and Chapel Annex

THR Enterprises supplied the necessary material, labor and equipment to renovate the Chapel and Chapel Annex. Renovation of the Chapel included converting office area to classroom space and the construction of a nursery and child bathroom. Renovation of the Chapel Annex included reconfiguring the kitchen and multi-purpose rooms, renovating classrooms and replacing slate roof and exterior windows. This project is accomplished in phases with the Annex portion completely finished prior to work commencing at the Chapel. This project is located at Langley Air Force Base, Hampton, VA. Contract value for both projects $2,168,151.00.

Family Housing Management Office

The US Army Corps of Engineering District, Norfolk, contracted with THR Enterprises to provide for the construction of a new 6,500 S.F. housing management facility, including all necessary support. The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, construction engineering and management, materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies and transportation to perform all work described in the plans and specifications. The site preparation will include the demolition of existing curbs and pavement, the relocation of an existing playground and benches, site lighting and the removal of several small trees. The building is a one story structure constructed with structural steel studs, brick veneer, CMU, cold-form steel roof trusses and a structural standing seam metal roof. The heating and cooling system will be served by a constant volume direct expansion cooling/hot water heating air-handling unit. The building control system will be DDC controls. The electrical system will consist of lighting, fire alarm system and a 800 ampere service. Project located at Langley Air Force Base, Hampton, VA. The current value of this project is $1,335,695.00

Fort Eustis Aviation and Training Facility

The US Army Corps of Engineering, Baltimore District, contracted with THR Enterprises, to provide all labor, material a nd equipment necessary to construct two separate facilities at Felker Army Airfield. Work included the construction of a multi-use classroom training facility and maintenance hanger. The new 12,000 square foot steel/brick/standing seam roof training facility included offices, reception area, bathrooms, classrooms, mechanical room, electrical room, and communications room. The new 14,000 square foot two story pre-engineered aircraft maintenance hanger includes maintenance offices, bathrooms, gym, storage area, mechanical room, electrical, room, and communications room. This project has a current value of $2,826,508.

Wancheese Marsh Creation

The US Army Corps of Engineering, contracted with THR Enterprises to build a marsh at Wancheese, NC., THR Enterprises, Inc. provided supervision, equipment and material to construct a 1100 linear feet of sandbag dike to elevation +3 feet above mean sea level (MSL), and a 1200 linear feet of stone dike to elevations varying from +6.0 feet to +3.0 feet above MSL. Work also included construction of a spillway riser and pipe outlet over the sandbag depths 0 to 5-1/2 feet MSL at an 8-acre site adjacent to and east of marshlands and immediately north of Wanchese Harbor entrance channel, Wanchese, NC. This project has a current value of $2,826,508.

Bldg 331 Hurricane Repairs, Langley AFB

THR Enterprises, Inc. contracted with Langley Air force Base in Hampton, VA to provide all labor, equipment, material and design documents necessary to repair building 331 due to hurricane damage. Current contract value is $596,783.67.

Bldg 67 & 68 Hurricane Repairs, Langley AFB

THR Enterprises, Inc. contracted with Langley Air force Base in Hampton, VA to provide all labor, equipment, material and design documents necessary to repair the crawl space and mechanical room of building 67 and 68 due to hurricane damage. Current contract value is $342,664.00.

Comm Server Farm Bldg 768, Langley AFB

THR Enterprises, Inc. has been awarded a contract to provide all designs, plant, labor, equipment and materials necessary to repair Bldg 768 Comm Server Farm at Langely AFB, Hampton, VA., this contract is valued at $384,067.00.

Pump Station Improvements, 2 Million Gallon Tank Langley AFB

THR Enterprises, Inc. has been awarded a contract to provide all design, labor, equipment and material necessary to replace the 1000 gpm operations pump at Tank 1374 (pump station) with three smaller pumps equipped with variable frequency drive controllers and having a design capacity of 1600 gpm at 85 psi. Project also includes installation of a backup generator at the pump station. Project is located at Langley AFB, Hampton, VA., this project is valued at $688,222.00.

North and South Piers USCG Portsmouth

THR Enterprises, Inc contracted with the USCG Integrated Support Command in Portsmouth, VA to Design/Build a 60 foot extension to the North and South waterfront piers. Existing electrical wiring was completely redesigned in close coordination with structural and electrical engineers. CAD drawings were provided to document complete electrical and structural design. The contract value for this project is $2,356,600.00.
